Powder coating – colour + protection for your laser parts
At Laserteile Online you order powder coating directly with the laser cutting job: simply select it as an add-on option in the instant price calculator – one order instead of two suppliers. Coating is done to RAL on request, with finishes from gloss to matt, from a single part and €50 net minimum order value.
The difference
Cutting, bending + coating from a single source
The classic route: order parts from a laser shop, transport them to a coater, coordinate two companies' schedules. At Laserteile Online, all of that disappears.
You upload your CAD file once, choose material and thickness – and enable powder coating as an add-on option directly in the calculation. Combine it with further options such as bending, deburring or threading if you like. The result: finished, coloured parts in a single delivery, with one point of contact for the entire process chain.
The effect in practice: no extra transport between two companies, no double scheduling and no question of who's responsible if something goes wrong. And that applies from a quantity of one: even a single powder-coated part is a completely normal order at Laserteile Online – from €50 net minimum order value.

Laser cutting
Precise laser cutting up to 3,000 × 1,500 mm, steel up to 20 mm – delivery from 2 working days.
- 02
Sheet metal bending
Optional bending up to 3 m long with 150 t of press force – before coating, so the coating stays sealed at the edges.

As an add-on option in the instant price calculator – colour to RAL on request, delivered as the finished coated part.
The process
How powder coating works
Instead of liquid paint, fine colour powder is electrostatically charged and sprayed onto the grounded metal part – the powder then adheres evenly across the whole surface.
The part is then baked in an oven: the powder melts and cross-links into a sealed, hard coating that is significantly more resistant than conventional paint. Because the electrostatic charge attracts the powder evenly, inclusions are almost eliminated – noticeably improving the dimensional stability and longevity of the coated parts.
Before coating, parts are cleaned and pre-treated so the coating adheres permanently to the metal. A note from practice: the paint thickness adds up and can affect holes or fits – for tight tolerances, rework may be needed. It's best to note critical dimensions directly in your inquiry.

Advantages
Why powder coating instead of wet paint?
Powder coating is established across the entire metal industry – for four good reasons.
Scratch + impact resistant
The baked-on powder coating is significantly tougher than conventional paint – it shrugs off everyday knocks and scratches noticeably better.
Corrosion protection
The sealed coating protects the metal against moisture and weathering – important for any part used outdoors or in damp environments.
No solvents
Powder coating works without solvents or similar chemicals – a significantly more environmentally friendly option compared with classic wet paint.
Even coating
Electrostatic charging during coating almost eliminates inclusions – the result is an even, durable surface with no runs or sags.
| Feature | Powder coating | Wet paint |
|---|---|---|
| Solvents | none – solvent-free coating | typically solvent-based |
| Scratch resistance | significantly tougher surface | more susceptible to scratches |
| Coating finish | even, inclusions almost eliminated | runs + inclusions possible |
| Curing | baked in an oven into a sealed coating | air-dried or force-dried |
Colours + finishes
Your colour to RAL – from gloss to textured
Whether it's understated anthracite for a façade or a signal colour for machine guards: Laserteile Online coats to RAL on request.
Alongside the colour, you choose the finish: gloss, satin or matt – textured coatings are also available. Simply name your desired RAL shade when ordering in the calculator or in your inquiry; the team confirms availability and price. Would you rather skip colour altogether for a rusty patina? Then Corten steel with its weathering-steel look is the right alternative.
A quick word on finish: glossy surfaces look fresh and colour-intensive, matt tones hide fingerprints and minor wear better – textured coatings add a tactile, grippy texture on top. When in doubt, the team is happy to advise.
Typical applications
Powder coating is an all-rounder used across the entire metal industry – wherever looks and protection need to come together. The core benefit is the double duty: a single coat delivers colour and corrosion protection in one step, instead of building up primer and topcoat separately. Typical application areas:
- Outdoor components that need to withstand weather and moisture long-term
- Covers, enclosures and protective guards in machine and plant engineering
- Visible parts with high aesthetic demands – from furniture and shopfitting to decorative elements
- Bent parts from the bending service, which receive a sealed colour coat after forming
Whether it's an industrial order or a single piece for your own project: businesses and private customers order from Laserteile Online on the same terms – from a single part, with an instant price from the calculator.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions about powder coating
What does powder coating cost at Laserteile Online?
The price depends on the surface area and geometry of your parts, the desired colour and the quantity. The quickest way to see it is in the instant price calculator: upload your file, select powder coating as an add-on option – the surcharge appears directly in the calculation. For special requests the team puts together an individual quote; the minimum order value of €50 net applies.
Which RAL colours are available for powder coating?
Laserteile Online coats to RAL on request – simply name your preferred colour when ordering or enquiring. For the finish, you can choose between gloss, satin and matt; textured coatings are also available.
How durable is a powder coating?
The baked-on coating is significantly more scratch-resistant than conventional paint and protects the metal from corrosion long-term. Because electrostatic charging almost eliminates inclusions, the result is an even, dimensionally stable surface – a key reason for the longevity of powder-coated parts.
Which is better: powder coating or wet paint?
For metal parts, powder coating is the tougher choice in most cases: more scratch-resistant, a more even finish and solvent-free, so more environmentally friendly. Wet paint remains an option when a part can't go into the curing oven – but for the cut and bent parts made at Laserteile Online, powder is the standard route.
How do I order cutting, bending and powder coating together?
Directly in the instant price calculator: upload your CAD file, choose material and thickness and enable the Bending and Powder coating add-on options. You get one price for the whole chain – one order, one delivery, one point of contact instead of two or three suppliers.
What should I watch out for with holes and fits?
The powder layer adds thickness – the coating can measurably narrow holes and fits, so rework may be needed. For tight tolerances, allow for the extra thickness or note the critical dimensions in your inquiry so the team can account for them before coating.
Is there an alternative to coloured powder coating?
If you'd prefer a natural rust look instead of colour, Corten steel is the alternative: the material forms a decorative weathering patina on its own and is laser cut at Laserteile Online in thicknesses from 0.5 to 15 mm – popular for gardens, façades and decor projects.
