Technology
Press braking on the Bystronic Xpert – precision you can measure
Bending is a key element of sheet metal processing. Laserteile Online uses a modern press brake with features that keep every bend under control:
- 6-axis back gauge: The gauge positions the sheet fully automatically in six axes – guaranteeing extremely high repeat accuracy, even for complex bent parts with multiple bends.
- Live angle measurement: The system measures the bend angle directly during the bending process – so every bend matches the exact specifications of your drawing.
- 3D visualisation: Before the actual bending process, the bent part is displayed in 3D. The final result is checked and adjustments are made before the press engages – saving time and reducing material use.
- Up to 150 t of press force: Enough force for steel and stainless steel up to 15 mm – at a bend length of up to 3 metres.
Specifications
Bend length, press force, material thicknesses at a glance
All the key figures for bending at Laserteile Online – the basis for your design:
| Feature | Value | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Max. bend length | 3,000 mm | Bent parts up to 3 metres |
| Max. press force | 150 t | – |
| Steel | up to 15 mm | for a short bend length |
| Stainless steel | up to 15 mm | for a short bend length |
| Aluminium | up to 12 mm | for a short bend length |
| Brass | on request | thickness depends on geometry |
Alongside steel, stainless steel and aluminium, Laserteile Online also processes brass. Special cases – unusual geometries or materials – are quickest to clarify via an inquiry.
Good for your schedule: standard materials such as steel, aluminium and stainless steel are almost always in stock in every thickness. That significantly shortens production time – when material is available, production sometimes starts within 24 hours, and for a surcharge same-day express production is even possible.
Process
Laser cutting + bending from a single source – one supplier, one price
Instead of ordering blanks and sending them elsewhere for bending, Laserteile Online handles both in a single order. That saves transport, coordination – and time.
- 01
Upload a file + choose bending
Upload your CAD file to the calculator and enable the “Bending” add-on option – the instant price covers cutting and bending.
- 02
Cutting + bending from a single source
Laserteile Online cuts the blank on the fibre laser and then bends it on the press brake – no second supplier, no transport in between.
- 03
Delivered ready to install
Delivery from 2 working days, same-day express production for a surcharge. Shipping as a parcel (24 h possible) or freight (24–72 h).

Why it matters: every handover between two manufacturers costs working days and risks coordination errors – for example when bend radii and the flat pattern don't match up. At Laserteile Online, cutting and bending happen under one roof, based on the same 3D visualisation. That saves time, reduces material use – and gives you exactly one point of contact for the finished bent part.
Result
Bent parts that fit – from a single piece to a full batch
Typical bent parts are enclosures, brackets, angles, consoles and covers – wherever flat sheet metal needs to become a three-dimensional component.
Thanks to 3D visualisation before bending and live angle measurement during the process, the result is right from the very first part – important for prototypes and small batches, where there's no spare part for trial runs. If the bent part also needs corrosion protection or a coloured finish, combine it directly with powder coating. The price for cutting + bending is worked out by the instant price calculator in about 60 seconds – no registration, from a single part.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions about sheet metal bending
How long can a bent part be at most?
The maximum bend length is 3 metres (3,000 mm). The press brake works with up to 150 tonnes of press force – enabling precise bending even of long parts made from thick material.
Which materials and thicknesses can Laserteile Online bend?
Steel and stainless steel are bent up to 15 mm, aluminium up to 12 mm. These figures apply to short bends: the 150 t of press force is distributed over the length, so the achievable thickness decreases the longer the bend gets. A short part can be thicker than one spanning the full 3 m length. We check every order before production and let you know if something isn't feasible. Brass is also possible – its thickness depends on the geometry and is checked on request.
Can I order bending directly with the laser cutting job?
Yes. In the instant price calculator, simply select “Bending” as an add-on option for your laser cutting job – cutting and bending come from a single source, with one price and one delivery.
How accurate are the bend angles?
The press brake measures the angle via live angle measurement directly during bending, and the 6-axis back gauge positions every part with repeat accuracy. Laserteile Online provides specific tolerance figures for your component on request.
How quickly are bent parts delivered?
Delivery starts at 2 working days. When material is available, production sometimes starts within 24 hours; for a surcharge, same-day express production is possible. Shipping as a parcel (24 h possible) or freight (24–72 h).
What does sheet metal bending cost – and is it available from a single part?
Yes, manufacturing starts from a single part – from prototype to batch. The instant price calculator works out the price: upload a CAD file, choose material and enable the “Bending” add-on option – the price shown covers cutting and bending. The minimum order value of €50 net plus shipping applies; a longer lead time gives more room for pricing.
What's the difference between bending, folding and press braking?
In sheet metal processing, all three terms describe the same process: a flat sheet is formed to the desired angle on the press brake, between the upper tool and the die. In the Laserteile Online calculator, the option is simply called “Bending”.
